Ingramer, like HashMe, is an AI-powered tool with smart features. Like most tools on our list, you can search for tags using a keyword, photo, or link. When you submit a query for a list of hashtags, Ingramer creates a list with as many entries as are available. Results are terms that are similar to your keyword. 

Entries are groups in three categories and include the number shares that each has received — great for helping you establish how well-aligned terms would be with your Instagram strategy. Categories include frequent, average and rare hashtags. Frequent hashtags are what Ingramer calls “popular hashtags”, while average are less so, and rare are “niche”. 

Side note: Ingramer recommends using two frequent hashtags, eight average, and around 10-12 rare hashtags. While this approach may seem counterintuitive, Ingramer reasons that it’s all got to do with competition, something that their grading tool helps with (more on this below).

Here’s why these metrics mean:

Number of posts indicates how popular a hashtag is. The more popular it is, the more traffic it receives, making it more competitive as a greater group of people use it to get traffic.

Posts per day shows how many posts use the hashtag per day and is another competitiveness indicator. It’s a seven-day estimate of how long your post will get traffic (and we assume how much traffic) if it is placed as one of the top positions. Once again, the higher the number, the more competitive your chosen hashtag is.

The difficulty is visualized using a difficulty metre with a range of zero to 100 and serves as more of an overall gauge. The higher the number, the more difficult it will be to generate the results you’re after.
